NKVC notes that it is discussing possibilities both with international partners and with private airline companies, so that Lithuanian citizens stuck at Tel Aviv airport have the opportunity to return to Lithuania as soon as possible.
According to NKVC, difficulties arise for Lithuanians whose flight to Vilnius was canceled on Saturday.
A flight to Tel Aviv took place on Sunday, and it is expected that some travelers with tickets for a regular flight will return from Israel.
NKVC and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs are in close contact with Lithuanian citizens in Tel Aviv and encourage everyone who needs help to contact the following contacts:
Embassy of Lithuania in the State of Israel tel. +972 3 6958 685 or e-mail email addresses [email protected], [email protected] or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania by phone +370 5 236 2444 or e-mail by post [email protected].
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Gabrielius Landsbergis, calls on people to refuse to travel to Israel: “If there is no necessity – refuse to travel to Israel. Opportunities to return may be hampered. The security situation in the country is changing very quickly, so be alert and constantly follow the information,” G. Landsbergis said on Sunday.
Morning flight
“The Lithuanian Jewish community announces that on Monday morning, one plane will transport compatriots home,” said a message on Facebook.
