With the Reno 8 Lite 5G, Oppo has introduced a new mid-range smartphone that is said to stand out with two LED rings. These are located on the camera module and are intended to display various functions as a signal light, including incoming calls and notifications.

The remaining equipment of the Oppo Reno 8 Lite 5G belongs more to the mid-range standard. That AMOLED-Display measures 6.43 inches and offers a Full HD+ resolution. Unfortunately, Oppo does not have an increased frame rate, so there is “only” 60 Hz instead of around 90 Hz or even 120 Hz Snapdragon 695 SoC as well as 8 gigabytes of LPDDR4 RAM and 128 GB of storage.

The camera module consists of a 64 MP main camera plus one each Macro and a depth sensor. The literal highlight, however, are the so-called “Dual Orbit” lights, i.e. two LED rings around the two large camera lenses. These RGB lights serve as Status LEDs for incoming calls or notifications.

The energy consumption of these light rings is said to be only one percent for every two hours of lighting. The battery capacity is given by Oppo as 4500 mAh, it is also the SuperVOOC fast charging function with 33W supported. In 15 minutes, 31 percent of the battery charge should be restored, a full charge should take almost 63 minutes.

The Oppo Reno 8 Lite 5G is said to have been available from Amazon since June 1st and from other providers from June 7th for an RRP of 389 euros. On the German Amazon site, however, searches for the smartphone have so far been in vain.
