The Chinese company, “Oppo”, the smartphone manufacturer, today, Thursday, launched its new phone, “Reno 8Z”, for global markets, which comes within the budget-friendly economic category, which offers real value in specifications and settings for an acceptable price.
The new phone features a 6.43-inch “AMOLED” screen with a resolution of (FHD +) (2400 x 1080 pixels), a refresh rate of 60 Hz, and support for 16.7 million colors, in addition to a “SCHOTT Xensation Up” glass protection layer.
The screen occupies regarding 90.8% of the phone’s size, and provides up to 600 nits of peak brightness in maximum exposure mode, and the screen comes with a “SGS” rating to reduce blue light to less than 12.5%, and the phone is also “Netflix certified” HD” and “Amazon Prime Video HD”.
The design of the phone, which supports two “nano” SIM cards, features a glass interface and a plastic side frame, as well as a fully glass back that comes with an unannounced protection layer from the company, and the phone supports fifth generation (5G) networks.
The phone is powered by an eight-core “Snapdragon 695” processor developed by the American company “Qualcomm” paired with an “Adreno 619” graphic processor. The phone runs on the “Android 12” operating system directly from the box with the traditional “Oppo” interface from the “ColorOS 12.1” version.
The processor works in conjunction with 8 GB of RAM of the type “LPDDR4X” that can be physically “extended” up to 5 GB, by using unused storage space, and the phone provides a built-in storage capacity of 128 GB of “UFS” type. 2.2” can also be extended up to 1 TB via the “microSD” card slot.
The phone features an in-display fingerprint scanner, a facial recognition function to lock and unlock the smartphone, and a 4,500mAh battery with 33W SuperVOOC charging.
Oppo claims that the battery life lasts up to 447 hours, with a charging time of 63 minutes, and also claimed that with only 5 minutes of charging, the phone will provide up to 3 hours of continuous operation, and the phone features a “USB Type-C” port. 3.5 mm headphone jack, NFC support, Bluetooth v5.1 connectivity.
The phone features a triple rear camera setup, with a 64-megapixel “Dual Orbit Lights” primary sensor, a 2-megapixel mono sensor, and a 2-megapixel “macro bokeh” lens.
The company said the rear camera setup is capable of recording videos up to 1080p at 30fps, and slow-motion video up to 720p at 120fps.
And for selfies and video calls, the phone includes a 16-megapixel sensor that can record video at up to 1080p or 720p at 30 frames per second.
Oppo has set the price of its new phone, “Reno 8Z”, at $362.5, and the phone is available in “Dawnlight Gold” and “Starlight Black” color options.
