OPEX Corporation wins patent dispute

2023-08-07 18:55:55

OPEX Corporation recently won a patent dispute with Invata, LLC of Conshohocken, Pennsylvania (“Invata”) and HC Robotics of Hangzhou City, China (“HC Robotics”). The International Trade Commission found that Invata and HC Robotics had infringed two of OPEX’s patents related to OPEX’s award-winning Sure Sort® and Perfect Pick® systems and their associated iBOT® vehicles.

After a thorough trial, the International Trade Commission has found that Invata and HC Robotics’ second-generation Omnisort system infringe OPEX US Patents 8,622,194 and 10,576,505. The ruling also upheld the validity of OPEX’s patents.

CIC’s ruling is in addition to a previous court order in which Invata and HC Robotics agreed to no longer import or sell their first-generation Omnisort systems in the United States.

Alex Stevens, president of warehouse automation at OPEX Corporation, commented, “We are pleased with CIC’s decision on several counts: the first is that our patents are valid and in effect, and the second is that there is a deletion order preventing the importation of the infringing product into the United States. We believe that determination reinforces OPEX’s position as a leader and pioneer in warehouse automation. Going forward, we will remain focused on driving innovation to solve customer problems.”
