announced The Ministry of Tourism and AntiquitiesAbout opening the door for registration of citizens wishing to perform the rituals of Hajj through Tourism companiesFrom March 12 to April 19, in accordance with the conditions and controls governing the tourist pilgrimage for the year 1444 AH – 2023 AD, set by the Supreme Committee for Umrah and Hajj, following its approval by Ahmed Issa, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, in accordance with the provisions of Law No. 84 of the year 2022 organizing the pilgrimage and establishing the unified Egyptian portal for the Egyptian pilgrimage.
These controls have been sent to the Chamber of Travel and Tourism Companies and Agencies to notify the tourism companies of them in preparation for the start of the season and the registration of pilgrims.
It is scheduled that a public lottery will be held to select the pilgrims on April 30, following which the procedures for registering partnerships between companies, inspecting the pilgrims’ accommodation and documenting the contracts will begin.
The Ministry and the Supreme Committee for Umrah and Hajj, through the regulations of the tourist pilgrimage, are keen to meet the demands of citizens wishing to perform the Hajj and overcome all means for them by providing several levels of Hajj tourism programs, all of which are characterized by quality and the availability of distinguished services for pilgrims.
For her part, Samia Sami, Head of the Central Administration for Companies at the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities and Head of the Supreme Committee for Hajj and Umrah, referred to the directives of the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities to the committee that the controls aim to promote the level of tourism pilgrimage and achieve the highest levels of excellence for it, noting that in this context the controls have given special attention to Hajj. Economic and land, in order to provide all distinguished services to this important group.
She added that the controls were also keen to maintain the distinguished level of the tourist pilgrimage, thanks to the elements and experiences accumulated by the tourism sector in the organization, which has become a model that many Arab and Islamic countries seek to implement.
Samia Sami explained that the visas for the tourist pilgrimage were distributed to the different levels of the tourist pilgrimage (five-star, economical and land), and the controls included different prices for all pilgrimage programs for the previous levels, stressing that these prices do not include the cost of airline tickets, noting that all These prices are subject to increase and decrease according to any changes that may occur, whether in the cost on the Saudi side or the exchange rate during the coming period.
All tourist pilgrimage procedures included in the controls adhere to the articles of Law No. 84 of 2022 regulating Hajj and establishing the unified Egyptian portal for the Egyptian pilgrimage, as well as all the controls, requirements and procedures set by the Egyptian and Saudi authorities regarding the pilgrimage season, as well as in full coordination with all those authorities.
The general controls for organizing the tourist pilgrimage this season included the commitment of tourism companies to the law establishing the unified Egyptian portal for Hajj, as well as all health controls, requirements and procedures issued by the Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population, and the Saudi Ministry of Health, especially those related to precautionary measures during the Hajj season, and the organizing instructions and rules for the electronic track. The unified and timings for pilgrims, and the companies’ commitment to educating pilgrims regarding the instructions issued regarding the Hajj season.
It also included the controls for everything related to the Hajj season, including the specifications of the programs and services provided, the improvement efforts for the economic and land programmes, the controls related to housing, the registration of supervisors and the documents required from pilgrims, as well as the health controls and requirements for individual Hajj and the bodies organized by tourism companies.
