DAKAR – A permanent exhibition of Algerian products, under the Algerian Society of Fairs and Exports (Safex), was opened Thursday in Dakar (Senegal), representing several sectors, capable of boosting commercial exchange between Algeria and Senegal and the rest of African countries, in implementation of the instructions of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune.

The exhibition was inaugurated by the Minister of Trade and Export Promotion, Tayeb Zitouni, the Minister of Finance, Laaziz Faid, the Director of Foreign Trade at the Senegalese Ministry of Trade, Consumption and SMEs, Ansou Souba Badji , and the Director General of the International Center for Foreign Trade in Senegal (CICES),

Saliou Keita, in the presence of the Algerian ambassador to Senegal, Khaled Zohret Bouhalouan, and the president of the Algerian Economic Renewal Council (CREA), Kamel Moula.

The 1,800 m2 exhibition includes nearly 60 national exhibitors operating in various sectors, said Mr. Karim Boukadoum, Director General of “Safex”.

In a statement to APS, Mr. Boukadoum specified that this exhibition “is intended to be a hub for public and private national companies to access the markets of African countries”, stressing that it will be carried out to “promote the Algerian product and Algerian skills in different sectors, and the creation of Algerian-Senegalese joint companies and with other African countries according to the win-win approach.

Before the opening of this exhibition, the inauguration of the “Algerian Bank of Senegal”, the second Algerian bank approved abroad after the inauguration, Wednesday in Nouakchott, of the “Algerian Union Bank” took place. “(AUB), in accordance with the instructions of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, aimed at facilitating investment and trade between Algeria and other African countries.

As a reminder, the Algerian ministerial delegation arrived Wednesday evening in Dakar, after a two-day working visit to Nouakchott, marked by the inauguration of the “Algerian Union Bank” (AUB) and the opening of a show -room, “Export”, to promote Algerian products in Nouakchott, in addition to the opening of the work of the 6th edition of the Algerian-Mauritanian Business Council.

Meetings also brought together MM. Faid and Zitouni with their counterparts and senior Mauritanian officials.

The visit of the two ministers to Dakar will make it possible to examine new means of partnership between Algeria and Senegal and to expand cooperation in various areas.

The visit of the ministerial delegation to Nouakchott and Dakar comes “as part of the Government’s commitment to promoting cooperation with neighboring countries and consolidating close bilateral ties”, and “reflects the incessant efforts to achieve development sustainable and strengthening the economic stability of the region”, according to the Ministry of Commerce’s export promotion.

The visit will, according to the Ministry of Finance, “establish cooperative relations of common interest for the two parties, Algerian and Mauritanian, and Algerian and Senegalese in the economic, financial and commercial fields, promote commercial exchanges, encourage investment in various areas and consolidate common expertise.
