Dear God, through the word of Jesus you let us come close to you so that we can breathe easy.
Let us hear you so that we live.
Holy God, through the impulses of your Spirit you knock on the door of our hearts so that we open.
Let us hear you so that we live.
Merciful God, through the benevolent and asking, the critical and loving word of our fellow human beings, you show us a deeper meaning.
Let us hear you so that we live.
But the ears of our hearts, which form a bridge to you, our neighbors and ourselves, are often blocked. Clogged up with trifles and worries; Disappointments, comforts and distrust.
Open the ears of our hearts.
Because where we listen with trust, movement and the power to change become free.
Give us the courage to listen.
Life-giving God, we thank you that people place their lives in your hands.
Strengthen us to seek your will and surrender to your guidance.
We thank you that people let themselves be inspired by faith, bear witness to it and take up a spiritual profession.
Put the call to discipleship in them and give us witnesses in the service of man.
We thank you that the church enables appreciative fellowship in many places and is a treasure trove of your sacraments.
Make our church a home for seekers.
We praise you because you yourself are a hearing God.
We praise you because you are moved by our requests.
We praise you because you stay with us on the way to the end of the world.
