Asuncion, IP Agency.- The signing of the open skies agreement between Paraguay and Argentina represents the development and growth of new routes, especially for our countries, which would be of great importance to awaken the interest of more companies, explained to our editorial staff the aviation expert and businessman in the regional aeronautical sector, Alberto Cabrera. He describes it as a milestone in regional aviation and, especially, for Paraguay.
The National Directorate of Civil Aeronautics (DINAC) reported this Wednesday that its head Nelson Mendoza Rolón, and the Secretary of Air Transport of the Argentine Nation, Franco Mogetta, signed a Memorandum of Understanding of immediate application, in which they agreed to free up routes, eliminate the limit of flights, and include traffic rights up to the 9th freedom of the air.
In this regard, Cabrera said that this opens up a range of options to connect with new routes, depending on the interest represented by each destination, since until now Paraguay only had access to agreements that limit destinations and with this agreement there are no longer limits and it will grow exponentially.
He said that if a company that is part of this open skies agreement is interested in a particular market, it can request it and begin operations with the flexibility that this measure offers.
The businessman in the sector emphasized that this opening represents greater competition, a greater number of flights, favors the growth of passenger traffic and, finally, competition reduces costs for the end customer, that is, the passenger.
Other advantages offered by the open skies agreement include facilitating the entry of other companies into our country, combating monopolies, streamlining processes and eliminating tariff restrictions.
