WASHINGTON (EFE).— Martin Luther King III, eldest son of the historic civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr., yesterday urged the United States to vote for the vice president and Democratic candidate, <a href="https://www.archyde.com/biden-will-call-for-electoral-reform-to-curb-corrupt-barriers-to-voting-international/” title=”Biden will call for electoral reform to curb "corrupt" barriers to voting | International”>Kamala Harris, to protect democracy and the right to vote against the “dictatorship” that, he said, Republican Donald Trump would represent.
“This November, once again, each of us is called to act firmly in the name of justice. “Through our vote we can choose between democracy or dictatorship, between opportunities for all or the personal interests of one man,” he declared during a telephone press conference.
King III, 66, recalled how his father used to say, “A people without a vote is a people without power,” and said that one of the most significant steps Americans can take is the “simple act” of going to vote. on November 5, an essential action to defend freedom, justice and equality in the country.
“Civil rights leaders like my father, and so many others who followed him, have refused to allow extremists to dilute our power or thwart our demands for justice, no matter how hard they try,” he stressed during the press conference organized by the Democratic National Committee (DNC), the party’s organ.
