Pisa, 7 October 2024 – On the occasion of the World Menopause Day, which is celebrated on October 18Onda ETS Foundation organizes the second edition of the (H)Open day involving hospitals with the Pink Sticker for raise awareness among women about the changes that accompany menopause and on behavioral, diagnostic and therapeutic strategies that allow not only to improve the disorders that characterize short-term problems, but also to prevent and/or reduce medium-long term complications, such as cardiovascular diseases, osteoporosis and dementias.
“What emerges from the survey ‘Menopause in women’s lives’ – declares Francesca Merzagora, president of Fondazione Onda ETS – which we carried out in collaboration with the Elma Research Institute by interviewing 600 women between 45 and 55 years old, is That women live passively with the symptoms of this phase of great change but, with the increase in life expectancy, today they have the prospect of spending around thirty years in menopause. A long period in which correct information, careful prevention and adequate treatment of symptoms, when necessary, can significantly contribute to improving the quality of their life by limiting the impact of chronic degenerative diseases.”
The over 160 structures of the Pink Sticker network that have joined, including the Aoup, they will offer free clinical-diagnostic and information services to the female population.
