The Organization of Petroleum Producing Countries (OPEC) said on Tuesday that production for its thirteen members increased by 91,000 barrels per day, on a monthly basis, during the month of December last year.
The organization said in its monthly report released today that its members’ production rose to 28.971 million barrels per day in the past month from 28.879 million barrels per day in November.
According to the report, six countries, led by Nigeria, increased production by 91,000, taking its output to 1.267 million barrels.
Production in Saudi Arabia – the world’s largest oil exporter – rose to 10.478 million barrels per day from 10.474 million barrels per day in November.
Angola increased production by 42,000 barrels per day, Venezuela by 13,000, Libya by 17,000 and Iran by 9,000.
On the other hand, seven countries have reduced their production: Kuwait by 35,000 barrels per day and Iraq by 4,000 barrels per day.
The UAE cut production by 9,000 barrels per day, Gabon by 6,000, Congo by 18,000, Algeria by 11,000 and Equatorial Guinea by 1,000 barrels per day.
