Oommen Chandi left Antony as a pawn in that tea shop; Innocent says experience
Actor Innocent talks regarding the experience of releasing Oommen Chandy’s book. In Oommen Chandy’s book, he wrote regarding an experience he had with Antony. Innocent said that he had said this in the launch speech and that Oommen Chandy wrote in the book that no one was ready to write. He said this in an interview to Kaumudi Movies.
“He called me directly for the release of Ooman Chandy’s book. It was released in Thiruvananthapuram. I am close to Oommen Chandy. But I asked him if he wanted to call someone like me.
When I asked if it would be enough to call some good writers, he said that I am enough. Because there is some humor in it. Then I was told that I was the right person for it. I asked you to send me that book.
Because something in it has to be said there. Otherwise, it would not seem like a big deal to bring us. I was sent the book without the cover. Because it will take a week to make everything. When I read that book, I understood everything.
I have one incident in my memory. At the beginning of Oommen Chandy’s entry into politics, A.K. Anthony is coming from somewhere. Oommen Chandy went directly and called Anthony and brought him. Both of them entered a tea shop near the railway station and drank tea.
Anthony said he wanted something substantial as he was very hungry. Oommen Chandy was shocked to hear this. All he had was cash for coffee. Oommen Chandy said to give everything. Oommen Chandy ran away to the party office following giving the newspaper to Antony who was sitting there saying that he would come soon.
He ran away to get the money. So Oommen Chandy left AK Antony there as a pledge. He ran down the road and took the money. A.K. Anthony also had no money. He took the money from the hands of the party members and took Antony from the pledge.
It’s in that book. Oommen Chandy has written it very respectfully. Some do not write such things at all. I told all that incident in the release speech that day. “There were many intellectuals with shoulder bags at the book launch event,” said Innocent.
