An Ontario woman had the scare of her life when a car key, thrown by a friend, pierced her cheek close to her eye.
Renée Lariviere, 24, tried to grab her car keys but instead accidentally stuck them into her nasal cavity, an inch and a half deep.
The young woman from Sudbury told the Daily Mail that at first she mightn’t feel the pain due to the adrenaline.
“At the time, I didn’t care regarding a scar. If taken care of, the scars disappear. My concern was rather if I was going to lose my sight, ”explained the victim of the key.
Transported by ambulance to the hospital, the young woman said that the doctors, who came from several departments to see the victim, might not believe their eyes.
The surgeons managed to extract the key from the cavity in order to stitch up the wound. Visibly lucky in her misfortune, the young woman comes out of it without any visible scar.
Moreover, Renée Lariviere affirmed that one of the doctors uses to date the photos of her accident in order to show them to her students to prove to them that “anything can happen”.
“I think we are so busy with our daily lives that we forget that anything can happen, every day, and that we can get out of it badly,” she confided.
