The Ontario government announced this increase in the minimum wage last March, with the aim of helping families “offset the increased cost of living,” the province said in a press release.

Ontario is now on the podium of provinces offering the highest minimum wage, behind Yukon ($16.77) and British Columbia ($16.75).

Remember that the minimum wage in Quebec is $15.25 per hour.
