The government has decided to ban the online sale of COVID-19 rapid antigen test kits (self-test kits) and limit the sale price and purchase quantity. Self-examination kits are distributed free of charge at daycare centers and senior welfare facilities.

The government held a meeting of the ‘Rapid antigen test kit supply and demand response task force’ meeting at the government complex in Seoul on the afternoon of the 10th.

First of all, the government strengthens the management of the entire distribution process in order to respond to self-inspection kit price disturbances.

From the 13th, the online sale of self-test kits will be banned (the stock will be exhausted until the 16th), and offline sales will be limited to pharmacies and convenience stores.

In addition, one or two self-test kits per week will be distributed free of charge to approximately 2.16 million people, including daycare centers and welfare facilities for the elderly. Distribution to kindergartens and elementary schools will be decided later after consultation with the superintendent of provincial and provincial superintendents.

From March, we plan to expand the distribution of free self-test kits to pregnant women and other vulnerable groups.

The government announced that it will provide a sufficient amount of self-test kits to quarantine sites such as screening clinics as the top priority.

By the end of this month, 70.8 million self-test kits and a total of 190 million self-test kits will be supplied in March.
