There are several ways to apply scams and fraud in the online environment. Many of them consist of providing illegal materials that violate the law, in exchange for a sum of money.
One of these practices was revealed at the beginning of this month of August, by the website Reporter Brazil, and involves online platforms for “little jobs”. O Detective TudoCelular separated the main information on the subject and explains it to you in this column.
understand the case
According to the publication, sites like Twentycount e VintePila contain advertisements in which the freelancer promises to make testimonials – in text or video – to promote products sold by the contractors.
In turn, there are requests from interested parties for advertisers – who will carry out the “odd jobs” – to carry out functions which violate laws or generate some type of fraud in professional activities.
One of the cases revealed VintePila includes a request to record a testimonial of up to one and a half minutes, for the freelancer to dress in a lab coat and pretend to be a doctor, to speak well of a company.
Another request on the same platform consists of recording a video that shows the contractor’s own bank account, with the lie that he obtained easy money with a course on “how to earn extra income”. Thus, it would give veracity to such scams.
In turn, the Twentycountinstead of hosting advertisements from the contractor, there are only offers from service providers here, starting with “I will…” followed by the intended function.
violations of law
According to experts, these forged advertisements that convey a positive image of products and services characterize infractions that even fall under the Penal Code of our country.
In the case of the person who wants someone to pretend to be a doctor, the violation is once morest article 282 of the legislation. It classifies the illegal practice of medicine as a crime, with a prison sentence of six months to two years, with a fine when the crime is committed for profit.
Complaints on the internet
Since before the matter of Reporter Brazilit is already possible to find on the internet both people who complain regarding the misuse of “beaks”, and people who also advertise their services.
On Twitter – today called “X” –, there are posts that talk regarding fake testimonials purchased to promote products from internet scams. See some examples below:
3. They use fake purchased testimonials
There is a site called VintePila where you can buy fake video testimonials for your product, check it out.
4. They make a 40-minute sales video to sell promising a cure for a disease and deliver an ebook made in Canva.

What’s on at the moment?
TudoCelular searched on both platforms reported in the publication of the Reporter Brazil, to find out what’s still available in them. At Twentycountit is still possible to find a series of ads that promise positive testimonials for products, services, brands, websites and applications.
No VintePila, there are also options to record an advertisement or promotional video for the contractor’s business. However, we no longer locate those who ask directly for tasks that constitute violations of the law.
The platform itself had already issued a statement to confirm the removal of ads that contained violations and said it opened an internal audit to increase the reliability of the service.
“In this review process, we identified ads that violated our Terms of Use by promoting untrue or misleading information. To correct this situation, we promptly removed the advertisements and prompts associated with these violations.
In order to reinforce our dedication to quality and reliability, we are currently conducting a comprehensive internal audit. We are focused on identifying any systemic issues that may have allowed these false advertisements to spread.”
