Online Hackers Corrupt Elden Ring Players’ Saves

Players in Elden Ring began to report a remote hacking of saves. The attacker invades the world of the victim, following which the character suddenly dies and begins to respawn outside the map. Thus, the player gets into a loop, from which it is extremely difficult to get out.

In the community on Reddit users exchange problem solutions. Some manage to end the Elden Ring process with Alt + F4 before respawning. After restarting, the game will take a little longer to load the data, which will allow you to have time to open the map and select another spawn point.

Other players are advised to take Steam offline, start loading the save in Elden Ring, and at the time of loading following the first death, complete the process with Alt + F4. The next time you start the game itself will transfer the character to a safe place.

So far, Bandai Namco and FromSoftware have not commented on the situation. Users also recalled that similar hacks have been in other games of the company since Dark Souls 3 (by the way, the game servers of the series are still not included following the January hack).

Elden Ring was released on February 25 on PC (Steam), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S. Total shipments and digital sales of the project as of March 14 (following only 17 days) exceeded 12 million copies.
