The anime adaptation of the comedy manga, Oniichan wa Oshimai! (Onimai: I’m Now Your Sister!). However, fans noted that the version issued by Crunchyroll is censored in some parts involving Mahiro, the protagonist, discovering his new female body. Be careful though, because Crunchyroll is not to blame this time.
Changes include two relatively bland scenes of the protagonist Mahiro putting on a bra and getting out of the bathtub (those scenes were replaced with still frames), as well as some audio from an erotic visual novel that Mahiro was playing. This is extremely strange, considering that there were many other scenes.”stronger” which were not censored in the distribution. So what the hell happened?
The explanation came from a distributor in China, “Bahamut animation madness“, who explained through his official Facebook account:
- After confirming with the source, the status of the anime “Oniichan wa Oshimai!” is the following:
- The version that was sent abroad from Japan is the altered version, and the original version will only be broadcast in Japan. Our agent really tried to get the unchanged version, but the authorization was not given from Japan.
- There are two versions of both the visual track and the audio track, the corrected and the normal. Netizens pointed out issues related to the audio, but regarded it as a bug. However, from Japan we are informed that the audio corrections are only present in the version given abroad.
- We apologize for the confusion and inconvenience caused by the changes noted in the streaming version, but we would also like to ask you to understand this situation which is out of our control.
So now you know: Any official version of Oniichan wa Oshimai! (Onimai: I’m Now Your Sister!) broadcast abroad will be censored, because that is the version that Japan delivered for international distribution. If you want to see the uncensored version, you will have to find in “less official sites” and ripping (i.e. directly recorded) of the version broadcast in Japan.

Mahiro Oyama was a normal guy who loved erotic games… until one morning he woke up as a woman!
