The Palestinian Ministry of Health said that a Palestinian was killed and at least 22 others, including four seriously, in ongoing clashes with the Israeli army, in the Jenin camp, in the northern occupied West Bank.

Palestinian sources said that the clashes erupted following Palestinian gunmen spotted the infiltration of an undercover force into the camp at dawn today, Monday, and pointed out that the intensity of the fire led to the introduction of the Israeli army reinforcements to the area.

And Israeli media reported that at least six soldiers were injured during the clashes, and the condition of one of them was described as serious, without any official confirmation from the army so far.

According to the Israeli “Walla” website, the army carried out a “rescue operation” for its forces, during which it sent reinforcements to the camp, including a military bulldozer. The website also reported that the wounded soldiers were wounded by explosive devices, “two of which penetrated two rescue vehicles.”

Sources in the camp said that the Israeli forces raided it to arrest the perpetrator of an attack that occurred late last month, near the Hermish settlement in the West Bank, which at that time led to the death of a settler.

The Al-Qassam Brigades, the military arm of Hamas, and the Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Jihad Movement, announced that gunmen affiliated with them were engaged in clashes with the Israeli army in Jenin.

Palestinian sources reported that the army arrested two young men in the camp, which was confirmed by the Israeli media.
