Release expected for the third week of July
A new Android version for the current Samsung Galaxy flagships is slowly looming on the horizon. According to a report by Sammbolie, the South Koreans might start with the OneUI 5.0 beta as early as the third week of July.
There has been since April some rumours regarding the start of OneUI 5.0 Betaprogramms. At that time there was already talk of Samsung planning to release the beta for the July 2022 plans. A current report from Sammobile supports this thesis once more and at the same time further limits the publication period. According to this, Samsung will release the Android 13 beta for the Galaxy S22 series in the third week of July publish. This would mean that this year’s Android preview would start much earlier than in previous years. The past test versions typically appeared in October or November of the respective year.
However, it is currently unclear in which countries the beta will initially be usable. It can be assumed that American and South Korean users will initially be able to enjoy Android 13. A release of the beta in Germany and other European countries should follow soon.
OneUI 5.0 should be more efficient
With Android 13, the new OneUI 5.0 user interface will find its way onto the Galaxy smartphones. According to the current state of knowledge, Samsung is planning one major revision of the software, with a particular focus on the topic of performance. Among other things, new animations and a minimization of delays should ensure an improved user experience. A final version of Android 13 including OneUI 5.0 is expected to be available in October of this year for the Galaxy S22-Reihe (Test: S22 Ultra) ready.
