Recently, OnePlus has undergone major changes after its merger with OPPO. The company has shifted its focus from high-end devices to “flagship killers,” as we saw in the debut of its latest phone, the OnePlus 11. Notably, the company decided not to release a Pro version of the device.
In light of these developments, it is worth comparing the OnePlus 11 to another long-awaited device: the Apple iPhone 14. Both phones offer unique features and specifications, but their prices are relatively similar. So, how do they stack up against each other?

Design
The Apple iPhone 14 features a sleek and attractive design, with superior build quality compared to the OnePlus 11. The iPhone 14 features a smaller, more compact screen and is made with superior materials such as a Corning glass back and an aluminum frame. In addition, it has an IP68 rating, which makes it waterproof and able to withstand immersion in water up to 6 meters deep for 30 minutes. Its thin and lightweight design is a hallmark of Apple devices, while the OnePlus 11 falls short in comparison with its lack of certified water and dust protection, bulkier dimensions, and poor build quality.

On paper, the OnePlus 11 has a superior display compared to the Apple iPhone 14. The OnePlus 11 features a 6.7-inch AMOLED panel with a Quad HD+ resolution of 1440 x 3216 pixels. It also features an adaptive refresh rate range of 1 to 120Hz, LTPO 3.0 technology, Dolby Vision and HDR10+ support, up to 1300 nits brightness, and an in-display fingerprint reader. While the OnePlus 11 may have better hardware on paper, the performance differences between the two phones may not be that great. This is because the iPhone 14 runs iOS, which is optimized for performance and efficiency compared to Android. OnePlus 11 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 octa-core mobile platform, with a 4nm production process and a maximum frequency of 3.2GHz, coupled with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.0 native storage. On the other hand, the iPhone 14 is equipped with the Apple A15 Bionic chipset, which is a six-core processor with a 5nm production process and a maximum frequency of 3.23GHz. It also comes with 6GB of RAM and up to 512GB of NVMe native storage. Both phones are likely to offer smooth and responsive performance, but the iPhone 14 may have the edge in overall performance and efficiency due to improvements in iOS.

On paper, the camera system of the OnePlus 11 appears to be superior to that of the iPhone 14. The OnePlus 11 features a Hasselblad triple camera setup, consisting of a 50MP Sony IMX890 main sensor and a 32MP telephoto lens with 2x optical. zoom, and a 48-megapixel ultra-wide-angle shooting camera.
