ISRAEL again attacked through airstrikes on the safe zone in the Gaza Strip, Palestine, on Tuesday (10/9). The attack created a large crater while burning tents and burying Palestinian families under the sand.
Gaza’s Civil Defense said it killed 40 people and wounded at least 60 others, reporting more than 40 dead with at least 60 wounded. Many are still missing, authorities said. Residents and medics said the camp was hit by five or six missiles.
Seeing this action, the Indonesian Muslim Consumer Foundation (YKMI) again condemned the crime of massacre or genocide committed by Israel against Palestine. The reason is, the genocide has been going on for almost a year. Therefore, YKMI reminds the Indonesian people to continue to strengthen solidarity with Palestine.
“The genocide in Palestine has been going on for almost a year but it has not ended yet. Yesterday, Israel attacked the Palestinian safe zone again. This is an act that is clearly a violation, a crime, and an injustice,” said YKMI Executive Director Ahmad Himawan.
Himawan appealed to the public to continue to call for a movement to care about Palestine. “We appeal to the public because the public has not forgotten the Israeli genocide crimes in Palestine. The victims in Gaza still feel sorrow, pain and hardship every day. For that we remind Muslims that the genocide committed by Israel against Palestine is not over,” he said.
The former HMI activist explained that the effort must continue to be shown by Indonesian Muslims by carrying out peaceful actions and continuing to boycott Israeli-affiliated products. “The easiest thing to support Palestine is to boycott pro-Israel products. Moreover, currently the MUI has set five criteria for Israeli-affiliated products. So the people will no longer hesitate,” said Himawan.
According to him, his party will always try to maintain the fire of struggle by building effective and creative campaigns. “The spirit of fighting against Israeli crimes and supporting Palestinian independence must never be extinguished. YKMI will always try to remind the people in various ways, including by campaigning to stop using Israeli-affiliated products,” he said.
Himawan admitted that YKMI will soon consolidate with all the supporting forces of the Palestinian struggle in Indonesia. The goal is to evaluate and introspect on the methods of the Palestinian defense movement that have been carried out so far, ahead of one year of Israeli aggression in Gaza. One of them is by measuring the effectiveness of the boycott of Israeli-affiliated products which is considered successful by many people in Indonesia. (Z-2)
