A fire broke out on Tuesday around 12 p.m. on the 3rd floor of an apartment on rue des Peines Perdues, in the center of Charleroi. The Marcinelle firefighters and the police were called to the scene, as well as an ambulance and the SMUR. The premises have been secured. The surrounding homes and the nearby school were evacuated as a precaution. One person died, confirm the firefighters of the East Hainaut area.
