A serious road accident between a car and a tow truck left one dead and two injured, late Monday morning, in Sainte-Mélanie, in the Lanaudière region.
The tragedy occurred around 11 a.m. at the intersection of Route 348 and Rang Kildare, on the borders of the municipality of Saint-Ambroise-de-Kildare.
According to the authorities, the driver of the car would have made his mandatory stop at the intersection, before engaging on Route 348 “without ensuring the absence of danger”.
The tow truck traveling on Route 348 was unable to avoid the impact.
Local firefighters used lifeline pliers to extricate the passenger from the car. The elderly woman in her 20s was taken to hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
