One billion euro salary: Saudi club lures Real star

According to media reports, Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund (PIF) wants to lure Real star Vinicius Jr. to the kingdom with a billion-euro fee. The Brazilian is set to receive 200 million euros per season for a five-year contract with first division club Al-Ahli, as the Reuters news agency reported on Monday, citing a source close to the player.

Vinicius Jr. is said to be considering the offer, but the Saudi officials must first come to an agreement with the Madrid club – and they are said to have already ruled out selling the 24-year-old striker. If no agreement is reached, the sheikh’s club could still invoke the fixed release clause for Vinicius: This is said to be worth one billion euros.
