The president of the Alma de Acero Foundation, Berenice Fuentes, dedicated to collecting braids to make oncological wigs, pointed out that although it is not the line of business of her organization, they have noticed the shortage of oncological drugs and chemotherapies, which makes it difficult to obtain adequate treatment for cancer patients.

“We don’t have the studies or the function to do that, what we sometimes do is publish the drugs that someone stops using, who unfortunately dies and leaves behind all that supply of drugs,” he said.

We as a foundation, he added, are not committed to this, it is not the cause of the foundation in terms of medication because it is a very critical issue, the same as in terms of the shortage of chemotherapies that there are.

He said that through his civil association they are requesting support so that patients who need these treatments are given agility, however, he stressed that it is becoming difficult.

“Unfortunately, chemotherapies are insufficient, sometimes there are patients who have to wait for a new appointment to be scheduled later,” he stressed.

He also mentioned that foundations such as Vive offer alternative therapies such as psychological support for palliative care where the patient can improve their quality of life.
