ONCF Forecasts 56 Million Passengers and 4.6 Billion Dirhams Turnover for 2024

The National Railway Office (ONCF) is counting on 56 million passengers for the year 2024, corresponding to a turnover (CA) of 4.6 billion dirhams (billion dirhams).

“As part of the continuation of the dynamic started in 2023, the ONCF forecasts sustained growth of all of its activities in 2024, with the achievement of a turnover of nearly 4.6 billion dirhams, an increase of 7 % compared to 2023 with a forecast EBITDA of 1.6 billion dirhams in continuous improvement compared to the closing forecasts for 2023″, indicates the ONCF in a press release, published at the end of its Board of Directors, held on Friday in Rabat, under the chairmanship of the Minister of Transport and Logistics, Mohammed Abdeljalil.

Concerning the 2024 budgets, the director general of the ONCF, Mohamed Rabie Khlie, explained that they were designed taking into account the orientations of the public authorities relating to the Finance Law of 2024. They are also in line with the spirit of controlling expenses in the face of fluctuations linked to raw material prices and inflation, continuing the exceptional performance recorded in 2022 and 2023 by passenger and freight activities, reports the press release.

In terms of investment, the ONCF will continue its investment efforts, accelerating the various projects aimed at improving mobility, while contributing to the development and rapprochement of territories, to the strengthening of the national industrial fabric around the railway professions. , improving logistics competitiveness and creating jobs and value. And to note that 2024 will also be the year of the launch of the next cycle of rail development, with several structuring projects making it possible to strengthen the positioning of rail as the backbone of mobility in the Kingdom, particularly in view of the future World Cup. 2030.
