A California woman says she fears for her life following her husband purposely drove a garbage truck into their home.
His rampage was filmed by residents of the neighborhood.
Residents of a residential neighborhood in Westmont, Illinois were left stunned when they saw their neighbor rampaging, destroying his own home and everything in his way, Sunday following -noon.
Neighbors say the man first drove up in a white Impala and tried to destroy the garage door.
It was around 3:30 p.m. that neighbors, worried regarding Patricia Dunn, the enraged driver’s wife, called 9-1-1. When police arrived, however, the man had swapped the Impala for a garbage truck.
“He had gone mad, I was really scared,” Patricia Dunn told CNN.
It took 45 minutes for the police to arrive on the scene.
“If they had come here a little earlier, all this damage would not have happened,” said Patricia Dunn in an interview with CNN. “He came back three times, and they weren’t even there.”
Patricia Dunn no longer wants to live in the house that her husband attacked, because she fears that he will return to continue what he started.
She believes the man was deliberately trying to kill her.
The couple had started divorce proceedings before the events and Patricia Dunn had filed a restraining order a few months earlier. She believes this motivated her husband’s actions, angering him.
