One of the engines of a Southwest Airlines plane caught fire in mid-flight, forcing an emergency landing at the airport from which it had departed.

The incident occurred following the flight departed from Houston, Texas, bound for Cancún, CNN reports.
According to the Flight-Aware website, the aircraft turned back following regarding 27 minutes of flight.
A passenger captured footage of the incident which showed fire emanating from the engine.
A spokesperson for the airline said the aircraft was able to land safely and was taken out of service to check on its condition.
The people who were present in this flight were able to get on another plane to go to Cancún.
