Albus Salzburg is also struggling with the lack of skilled workers. On Saturday, the company invited interested parties to the Salzburgring to try their hand at being a bus driver. The echo was great.
“We want to inspire women and men to work as bus drivers.” Albus Salzburg is now also looking for new employees on the Salzburgring: On Saturday, interested parties might try out for themselves what it feels like to be behind the wheel of a bus. More than 120 women and men accepted the invitation. More than 50 of them have also taken up the challenge of driving a bus – on the legendary Nesselgraben race track.
“Everyone has mastered the tasks with flying colours”
Hermann Häckl, Managing Director of the Albus: “All participants mastered the tasks with flying colors. It is nice to see the enthusiasm with which they approached the challenge. For many, a childhood dream has come true. For others, the course was set for the professional future. The first hurdle for potential applicants is often that they cannot imagine driving such a large vehicle. That is why we wanted to convey this pleasant and effortless driving experience in one of our buses to everyone who is interested.”
The head of the company immediately signed three contracts
The tasks that the team had set up on the Salzburgring ranged from correctly approaching a stop to slalom driving around many pylons.
“As we have seen, there are numerous talents that are suitable for the job of a bus driver. I have already signed contracts with three drivers. Another twelve are interested in an apprenticeship,” says Häckl. Addendum: “Anyone or anyone can learn to drive a bus.” Albus Salzburg is certain: “We will definitely repeat the campaign.”
