The high numbers of Covid infections in the country remain, and today, according to the report published by the Ministry of Health (Minsal) that accounts for the last 24 hours of the pandemic, A total of 31,063 infections are registered, thus marking the fifth consecutive day that this figure exceeds 30,000 daily infections.

With the infections reported today, February already accumulates 239,688 confirmed cases, thus being the second month with the most cases of the entire pandemic, only after January 2022. Thus, the variation of new confirmed cases at the national level is 35% and 183% for the comparison of seven and 14 days, respectively.

The deceased for their part also reached a record, being the second highest daily figure recorded since August, with 73 deaths recorded on the last day for causes associated with Covid, according to data from the Department of Statistics and Health Information (Deis). With this, The total number of deaths confirmed by coronavirus exceeds 40,000 deaths in the country, amounting to 40,060.

Of the assets, these are estimated at 147,753, becoming this the new highest figure in the entire pandemic in the country.

Refering to positivity at the national level, is 23.67%, while the tests were estimated today at 118,824 (99,498 PCR tests and 19,326 antigen tests).

With today’s figures, the total number of accumulated infections amounts to 2,405,672, of which 2,211,024 are recovered.

Of hospitalized patients, the figure continues to increase, reaching today 632 infected in Intensive Care Units, 31 more than yesterday and 192 more than a week ago. Of this figure, 490 are on mechanical ventilation.

As to Total hospitalized by Covid, considering those in basic, medium, ICU and ICU beds, currently stands at 3,476, 1,087 more than last Monday.

At regional level, the worst positivity on the last day was recorded by Valparaíso, with 30.57%, followed by O’Higgins (29.17%), and Coquimbo (28.74%).
