On April 29, this newspaper published the letter “The future of dams” from members of “Republican Confluence”, which shows their real concern about the eminent situation of dams, which can be eaten by vultures like the Englishman Lewis . By the time the construction of El Chocón began, all of us Argentines who had electricity paid a fee in the electricity bills “for the construction of El Chocón”.

In the middle of the dam work, I remember when De Nevares (Bishop of Neuquén) walked along with the workers (about three thousand) along Route 22 fighting for improvements of all kinds. Then I worked on the Piedra del Águila dam. I know what we are dealing with – I say it with pain – because we have paid for the dams without complaining or demanding any rent (in other countries those who put money in should later benefit). Here the only beneficiaries are the authorities that have happily done business -perhaps shady- with foreign companies that are the ones that exploit our hydroelectric resources and us, like turkeys in a chicken coop.

We will continue like this because those who manage our future from politics, like the Macri, do not take a stitch without a thread for their own benefit. New leonine contracts and IMF credits that those of us on foot will pay again. That is why I allow myself to say that they are letting go of the times in which public opinion should be called on who and how what is ours is exploited in the hands of others. That our professionals work for the country in our dams, but for this we have to vote for people with experience and not petrimetres who have not even dirty their hands at work, nor have they burned their eyelashes studying.
