On September 27, 2024, on the day of the Exaltation of the Holy and Life-Giving Cross of the Lord, Metropolitan Nathanael of Volyn and Lutsk celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Church of the Exaltation of the Cross in the village of Chuvnytsia of the Kivertsiv diocese. On this day, in addition to the throne holiday, the Orthodox community prayerfully celebrated the 10th anniversary of the church.
At the divine service, His Eminence was co-served by a deacon from the Kivertsiv district Archpriest Oleksandr Kondratyuk, the abbot of the temple priest Serhiy Yurchenkohead of the office of the diocese Archimandrite Paisius (Khomych) and clergy of the diocese.
During the liturgy, requests were made for peace on the Ukrainian land, for deliverance from the enemy, for the Lord to look down on our people and save those who are in despair and lost their homes, for the Lord to bless people of good will who help the needy.
During the service, the abbot of the church was awarded another church award.
After the end of the Divine Liturgy and the Procession of the Cross, Metropolitan Nathanael addressed all those present with a sermon.
At the end of the service, in the middle of the church, the clergy bowed to the Holy Tree of the Holy Cross under the singing of the troparion, the condak of the holiday, as well as the hymn “To Your Cross”. After that, the Archbishop Rector congratulated those present on the holiday and invoked God’s blessing on everyone.
