UAB “Vilniaus viešasis transportas” announces a public electronic auction of used vehicles.
The initial price of one such trolleybus, which has been plying the streets of Vilnius for many years, starts from 1459 euros. The most expensive is one of the Škoda 14 TR models – its initial price is higher – 1782 euros.
A total of 16 old Škoda trolleybuses are on the counter.
The photos show that these vehicles have “seen life”.
As stated in the description of some of them, “the vehicle is not new, used, not suitable for operation. The seller adds an ignition key.” So after purchasing one of these, you won’t be able to drive all of them.
We encourage you to assess the condition of the trolleybuses now, because after the auction, it will no longer be possible to make claims.
“Auction participants can assess the condition of the vehicle for sale during the inspection from Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The inspection is carried out from 07/29/2024 to 08/05/2024. The participant, who wants to familiarize himself with the condition and equipment of the property in detail, can make an assessment during the inspection. After the auction, the winner no longer has the right to make a claim regarding its condition and equipment. The seller does not compensate and is not responsible for the costs incurred by the auction participants for participating in the auction,” the announcement states.
During the tests, the new trolleybuses do not roll with passengers, but with sandbags
Earlier it was announced that UAB “Vilniaus viešasis transportas” is starting to conduct test runs of the new “Škoda 32Tr” trolleybuses on the streets of Vilnius. They are carried out in order to evaluate the functionality of the systems and the real electricity consumption during the operation of the vehicle, according to the press release of the company “Vilniaus viešasis transportas”.
A total of four test runs will be conducted. During one trip, the vehicle will travel about 50 km on a specific route. To simulate passengers, the trolleybuses will be loaded with 2,500 kg sandbags.

During trips, such parameters as external and internal temperature, road condition, used electricity to overcome a certain distance will be recorded. All this information is needed when planning routes with new vehicles.
in 2023 the company “Vilniaus viešasis transportas” (VVT) purchased 91 trolleybuses from “Škoda Group”. It is planned that the first 20 trolleybuses will start traveling in the capital in the second half of August. The total value of the contract is more than 52 million. euros.
