KLOSTERNEUBURG. On Monday, Lower Austria’s governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner (VP) invited a number of celebrities, especially from the world of politics, to her (adopted) hometown of Klosterneuburg to toast her 60th birthday (February 9, 1964).
Ten climate activists initially came, two of whom stuck themselves to the B14 to block the access. The protest broke up before the celebration of the anniversary celebration, which advocates for tougher punishments for climate glue.
Among the 2,000 well-wishers were Upper Austria’s Governor Thomas Stelzer and his predecessor Josef Pühringer as well as Lower Austria’s former Governor Erwin Pröll and Chancellor Karl Nehammer (all VP). Vienna’s mayor Michael Ludwig (SP) and former federal president Heinz Fischer also celebrated.
