On March 30, 2023, emergency measures were taken in multiple Rostov region districts following snowfall.

A severe snowstorm has affected the Rostov region, causing power outages for 35,000 people and disrupting traffic on the M-4 highway. The emergency situation prompted the introduction of emergency measures in Shakhty, Belokalitvinsky, Kamensky, Krasnosulinsky, and Oktyabrsky districts, as announced by Governor Vasily Golubev in telegram channels. Earlier reports stated that multiple accidents and traffic jams occurred on the M-4 highway, prompting officials to block a section of the road and send Ministry of Emergency Situations equipment to tow stranded vehicles. The snowfall is reportedly the heaviest for the Rostov region since 1995, covering cars with ice and causing gas shortages for drivers. To restart traffic on the highway, officials had to cut off the cable fence on the median strip, with the deputy head of the region Sergey Bodryakov, the head of regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations Sergey Filippov, representatives of Avtodor, and the traffic police on site.

A powerful snowfall hit the Rostov region, which left 35 thousand people without electricity and paralyzed traffic on the highway M-4 “Don”. In connection with the current situation in the city of Shakhty, Belokalitvinsky, Kamensky, Krasnosulinsky and Oktyabrsky districts, an emergency mode has been introduced. The governor of the region Vasily Golubev announced this decision in telegram channels.

Earlier it was reported that several accidents and traffic jams occurred on the M-4 highway. To eliminate the consequences of a snowfall, a section of the highway was blocked. Special equipment of the Ministry of Emergency Situations was sent to the place to tow the cars. Several heating points have been deployed along the highway.

As noted by the publication 161.RU, there has not been such a snowfall at the end of March in the Rostov region since 1995. Eyewitnesses told the correspondent of the publication regarding what is happening on the track. According to them, the cars have been standing since half past twelve in the followingnoon, many cars were covered with ice, many drivers went to gas stations with canisters, because the tanks ran out of gasoline.
