On March 18, it will be possible to dispose of useless electrical equipment free of charge

“On World Recycling Day, it is important not only to remind regarding the importance of waste recycling, but also to really promote the proportion of secondary raw materials that end up in recycling – this time, the return of electrical equipment to repeated circulation,” says Laima Kubliņa, the representative of the Elektrosestdiena campaign, the marketing manager of “Green Belt”. “We will hold Electric Saturday on a significant date – World Recycling Day – together with our long-term partner AS “Kesko Senukai Latvia”, inviting every visitor to “K Senukai” to combine a visit to the store with the delivery of unnecessary equipment for recycling, while claiming valuable prizes,” reveals L. Kubliņa.

Technology is rapidly developing, offering the public more efficient, powerful devices. People’s desire to buy electrical equipment that makes everyday life easier is understandable. We want the habit of responsibly disposing of equipment that has served its time or has become redundant to be equally self-evident. Electric Saturday is a great reason for a general cleaning of the house and habits!” says the executive director of “Kesko Senukai Latvia” Viktorija Voichenko.

Acceptance of used electrical equipment will take place at “K Senukai” stores in Riga, Jelgava and Tukums during certain hours. at 10.00-11.30 the promotion will take place at the store “Lucavsala” in Riga, Lucavsalas Street 3, and “Ozols” in Riga, Mazaja Rencēnu Street 1. From 12:30 to 14:00, electrical equipment can be handed over to the store “Ulmaņa gatve” in Riga, Priedaines Street 37, and “Maskavas” in Riga, Maskavas Street 418a. On the other hand, at 15.30-18.00 the campaign bus will stop at “K Senukai” in Tukum, Kurzemes Street 46, and Jelgava, Loka highway 1b.

Each participant of the promotion will have the opportunity to participate in the “K Senukai” gift card draw. A total of 6 gift cards, worth 50 euros each, will be drawn.

Worn-out electrical equipment can be classified as environmentally harmful waste, which, when disposed of incorrectly, pollutes nature and can become the cause not only of global climate change, but also endanger public health. Electrical equipment contains a number of valuable secondary raw materials and noble metals, the reuse of which is economically justified and essential. The purpose of the “Green Belt” is to promote a change in society’s habits by promoting the responsible recycling of used electrical equipment as a self-evident daily behavior.
