News from Angola – In recent days we have seen constant attacks on social networks once morest executive officials and beyond. They turned this stage into a veritable hell, or a battlefield to spread false news and denigrate the honor of others.

Images of relatives of patients hospitalized at the Maria Pia and Pediatric Hospital in Luanda-Angola circulate on social networks.
The photographs are accompanied by a text questioning the number one in the health sector in Angola, “Madam, Minister of Health, Mrs Sílvia Lutukuta, what do you have to say regarding this system, did you, when traveling abroad , I had also seen those sad scenarios around hospitals??? Mr President João Lourenço, here is the paradise of Angola!!!”
On December 9, 2022, the Directorate-General of Hospital Josina Machel-Maria Pia, , produced a note of repudiation once morest the information passed on social networks.
“In light of the sad and repugnant scenario that can be seen on some pages of social networks and websites, using the image of the holder of the Health portfolio, Sílvia Lutucuta, the Directorate-General of Hospital Josina Machel-Maria Pia, hereby, clarify the truth and vehemently condemn the negative conduct of the perpetrators of this practice, which resulted in a real act to dirty the image of a good citizen”, she informed.
Unfortunately, in the last few days, we have seen in the journalistic square, materials ordered by someone who wants to harm the work of those who are dedicated to improving the health sector in the country. In recent times, the portfolio holder has been the main victim of these systematic attacks. When the presumed change in the governing chess approaches, a “bomb” almost always appears once morest the Lady!
Analyze with me the content of the first information, when asking the Minister what she has to say regarding the system?
I believe that the holder is not satisfied with the situation, because the challenges that the sector faces are enormous, in which everyone’s support is fundamental.
“Could it be that when I traveled abroad, I had also seen these sad scenarios around hospitals?”
And finally, the author of the publication leaves a message to President João Lourenço, showing “here is the paradise of Angola”, what message did he want to convey to the Chief Executive?
Without forgetting that there is a clear manipulation of the photographs presented. This is not the current scenario of referenced hospitals! I don’t mean to say that there aren’t people staying overnight in the streets adjacent to the hospitals, it’s a fact, but not in the proportion that the images show. It is clear that there is a clear use of the situation to deceive national and international public opinion.
It’s not fair to blame the health sector for people spending their nights around hospitals. To put an end to this sad scenario, among other solutions, it is recommended that a multisectoral commission be created (Ministry of Health, Ministry of the Interior, Provincial Government, Municipal Administrations and Civil Society), to resolve this problem definitively.
Especially because citizens who spend their nights out in the open run several risks, namely, being robbed, or contracting other diseases, in addition to not giving the city a good image!
At this point we should not look for culprits, but find viable solutions to select our problems.
The country belongs to everyone, each one of us has to feel like an integral part of building a better Angola. It’s not good to make social media a battlefield to dirty the good name of anyone in the society we live in.
They publish untruths and cannot even sign such texts, why are they hiding?
