Traditionally, on the second Sunday of August, our country celebrates a professional holiday – Builder’s Day. The holiday was established in 1955. For almost seventy years, this has been an important date for Ozersk. Special words of gratitude on this day are addressed to veterans. According to the tradition established in Ozersk, on this day, veterans are congratulated by the younger generation – fighters of the All-Russian student construction project “Peaceful Atom-2024”. Students sing and dance for those who built the atomic city.
On this day, the older generation and the youth took part in creative competitions and quizzes on knowledge of construction specialties and professional terms. Correct answers were rewarded with tokens, which were then accepted for participation in the prize drawing.
At the end of the holiday, the hosts wished everyone to make long-term plans and their own happiness, to build bridges of love, to lay the foundation for good relationships with family and friends, because every person is a builder in their own way, which means Builder’s Day is our common national holiday.
