Longer flights are usually tedious – in addition to the cramped space, travelers struggle with time differences, lack of sleep and stress. However, Miriam Porter probably did not expect that the food might become a problem on her ten-hour flight from Canada to Germany.
Shortly before the Air Canada flight to Frankfurt took off, Porter ordered a vegan menu to fuel himself during the ten hours of the flight. The first nasty surprise followed following take-off – while the other passengers received the first course of the regular menu, Porter was only given a bottle of water, like «Travelbook» writes. A video of the “meal” is currently going viral on Tiktok.
The second course didn’t bring any improvement for the vegan either – on the contrary: while there was at least some liquid beforehand, the flight crew served Porter a single serviette as the second course. After all, she got help later – “Greetings to the flight attendant who brought me fruit and rolls from Business Class,” writes Porter on Twitter.
The video made waves on Tiktok and caused a great response from users. “Air Canada should be able to stock vegan, kosher and halal food,” criticized one user, for example. Others see the mistake in Porter – according to the users, she should have taken care of her vegan food on the plane herself. As she writes on Tiktok, she usually does this, but this time there was simply not enough time. According to one user, a lack of time may have been exactly the reason for the strange “meal” – so you always have to order vegan menus at least 72 hours before departure.
