It has been two years since our fight with Kovid began. Omicron was the last variant following the Alpha, Beta, and Delta variants. There may be slight variation in Kovid symptoms with each variant. Omicron BA2 was the most difficult variant to detect in the Kovid test.
Maria van Kerkhov, head of Kovid-19 technical division, warned of false propaganda regarding Kovid. The World Health Organization (WHO) has also expressed concern over the reduction in tests worldwide in the wake of the low incidence of Kovid. The World Health Organization called on the nations of the world to step up their monitoring. Maria van Kerkhov said Omikron was not afraid and that this was the last variant and that the campaign was confusing with the end of the epidemic.
The trajectory of the pandemic is in our hands. It has always been in our hands. What happens now & into 2022 is up to us.Collectively, we can end the #COVID19 pandemic through action. It’s up to all of us. We can save lives now. We must.@WHO @DrTedros @DrMikeRyan @gabbystern pic.twitter.com/UmCqGPaMD6— Maria Van Kerkhove (@mvankerkhove) November 7, 2021
It should be taken seriously that last week there was an eight per cent increase in Kovid cases, despite a significant drop in Kovid tests. 99.9% of the tests were omicron. About 75% of these cases are caused by Omicron’s BA2 variant. Maria Van Kerkhov also suggested that vaccination should be given priority to prevent serious complications.
