If you’re looking for a game that brings together the wild parts of Rocket League, the tactical approach of League of Legends and the principle of Windjammers 2, we have good news for you: Omega Strikers.
The perfect mix between Rocket League and League of Legends
It’s been making noise since its launch on September 17, and with good reason, sinceOmega Strikers has it all. It brings together all the big successes of the moment: it takes up the strategic aspect and the team game of League of Legendscan give de Rocket League and of course, the strength of the gameplay of Windjammers 2. To put all this in place, the title, currently available on PC via Steam, and expected on iOS and Android, can count on the talent of developers at Respawn (Apex Legends) and Riot Games. Indeed, the latter joined the Odyssey Interactive studio, which is obviously in charge of this new project, not long ago.
Just like the French game from Dotemu, Omega Strikers offers fast-paced gameplay where the objective is to score a goal in the opposing camp. But this time around, it’s not just one-on-one matches, but three-on-three games for players to team up and strategize. To reinforce this idea, Omega Strikers features multiple playable characters who each have their own unique abilities and gameplay. If one can create barriers on the ground to better defend his camp, another can send additional projectiles to hinder the competition or better, knock out an opponent for a few seconds.
For now, the game offers a total of eleven charactersbut we already know that we will be entitled to four additional characters by November 17, the first of which will be playable from October 6.
A completely free game and a small success on Twitch
Of course, one of the great strengths of this new proposal is that everything is free-to-play. It is also surely for this primary reason that the title has already had the right to its small success on Twitch. The game has indeed reached a peak of 71,000 simultaneous views on the platform.
Finally, note that the game has a few small solo missions to introduce the gameplay, but also to earn some rewards such as new characters or coins. These can of course be purchased for real money to subsequently acquire skins or other cosmetic items.
