Ombudsman warns for alleged kidnapping of children for sexual exploitation in El Poblado

The Antioquia Regional Ombudsman’s Office launched an alert for the alleged kidnapping of children that he would be showing up in Medellin to lock them up in houses in El Poblado and use them to sexual exploitation, without noticing a fight by the authorities once morest this scourge.

According to the head of the agency, Yucelli Rincón, this situation would be occurring in the pink zone of El Poblado, where children are sexually abused by foreigners and nationals.

In an interview with Teleantioquia Noticias, the Ombudsman stated: “Boys and they are locking up, children of 10 and 11 years, as it happened in the last Flower Fair, where they commented that there were houses where children are being locked up”.

The official of the Public Ministry indicated that has received several complaints related to this phenomenon and that for this reason she has asked the mayor of Medellín, Daniel Quintero, to take action on the matter, because, according to her, at any time of the day foreigners are seen with children holding hands walking through the streets.

Children are lured into prostitution and they use them for criminal acts, because everything is transversal”, he warned and asked for more operability. He demanded that the criminals behind these practices be captured.

From the Personería of the city and its Observatory of Tourism, it has also been demanded to attend to the problem and that there be more operability in this regard.
