Barely a few weeks following his dismissal from Ajax, Marc Overmars was already at Antwerp. Sven Jaecques has acted as sporting director for the past few months, but in the long term this might not be combined with his position as chief executive of the Great Old.
Het Laatste Nieuws reveals that it was Omar Souidi who was behind Overmars’ arrival in Belgium. The criminal lawyer has been a fan of Antwerp for years and recently started working as legal adviser to Paul Gheysens at Bosuil.
