Omar Montes’ mansion looks like this after the Iglesias’ renovation

New challenge for the Iglesias brothers. Julio loves cars and a friend has lent him a very cool car, because he knows that his sister Chábeli loves to attract attention. Together they head to Montepríncipe, one of the most exclusive areas of Boadilla del Monte, in Madrid, where artists such as Raphael and Alejandro Sanz live, or the footballer Iker Casillas. There he has moved Omar Montes. His mansion is huge, but the singer has not been able to take advantage of its size. “He has a problem with space, it is large but poorly used for the pace of life that he and his large family lead, who go with him everywhere,” says Julio, who is looking forward to Omar and Chábeli meeting each other. “They are so different in every way that it is going to be very fun.”

Omar Montes misses his neighborhood

In this new episode of The Iglesias: Brothers at work, Julio and Chabeli want to make the singer’s whim come true and are facing one of the most complicated projects. The singer has fully trusted them to carry out this spectacular transformation in his new home. “For now we only come on weekends, we are still in Pan Bendito. This house is fine, but nothing like Pan Bendito, everything happens there,” laments the singer, who seems not to want to separate himself from the neighborhood where he grew up. Omar wants to turn his house into a family space, with enough rooms for all the members of his family and a new dressing room for all his clothes. “Your good taste and reputation precede you, and I trust you,” says Omar. “It’s going to be a very complicated renovation,” adds Chábeli. “I like the project, but… I don’t know if we’ll have time,” says Julio.

Challenges and achievements

Omar doesn’t like that the stairs don’t have a handrail and wants one because his grandmother almost fell once. It’s dangerous! He also wants a room for his grandparents and one for his mother. He also wants a wide hallway to distribute the rooms. “The ugliest thing is a narrow hallway,” says Chabeli. Omar is surprised that it takes a month and Julio complains. “Everyone wants it fast and cheap.” The Iglesias brothers eagerly accept this challenge and strive to overcome the obstacles.from structural problems to design decisions. Everything is approached with great determination and large doses of creativity, to transform chaos into a functional and welcoming space.

Omar wants to ‘place’ his 150 pairs of sneakers

One of Omar’s wishes is to have a dressing room, but not just any dressing room. He has 150 pairs of sneakers. and wants a space that is like a store. Chábeli throws her hands up in horror. “Now? We only have four days left?” But Julio wants to do it to surprise the singer and he has the right person to do it: it’s Carlos, the person who makes the most exclusive dressing rooms for important people. The idea is to make a kind of showroom, to store and display the shoes. Julio knows what style Omar wants and Chábeli knows how the space has to be divided.

The other challenge: the garden

But there is more, there is the house and then the garden, which is not well lit. “I don’t go out at night, I’m afraid of being kidnapped,” says the singer. “Now it is an unsafe place, an animal or a person can enter,” says Chábeli. “All the trees have to have lighting,” says Julio. This is another big challenge, because the garden is 3000 square meters. Despite the obstacles that appear, the brothers and their team enjoy the renovation and above all celebrate the result. Finally we see how The Montes family fights over the rooms, as they fall in love with each one of them. The Iglesias: Brothers at work continues to show how teamwork and passion for design can turn any space into a true home and they do things together that surprise us: Julio is a vegetarian, will he try Omar’s grandmother’s stew?
