Muscat: The annual meeting of the Oman-Iran Military Friendship Joint Committee concluded yesterday at the Sultan Armed Forces’ Al Shafaq Club. Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF) Operations and Planning Assistant Chief of Staff Brigadier Abdul Aziz bin Abdullah Al Mantari led the Oman side. The head of the Iranian forces was Brigadier Mohammad Ahadi. The meeting discussed various matters related to cooperation in military fields and aiming to increase the activities of the committee.

To mark the conclusion, ships of the Royal Navy of Oman and the Iranian Navy and helicopters of the Royal Air Force of Oman, Royal Oman Police and the Iranian Air Force conducted a joint naval exercise in the Sea of ​​Oman. The training was in search and rescue operations. The exercise was attended by Brigadier Al Mantari, Brigadier Ahadi, Head of Moral Guidance and Military Ceremonies Brigadier Hassan bin Ali Al Mujaini, members of the Oman-Iran Military Friendship Committee and military attachés of the Oman Embassy in Tehran and the Iranian Embassy in Muscat. The training was part of the Royal Navy of Oman’s projects with sister and friendly countries aimed at exchanging experiences and maintaining high efficiency in various fields.
