Omaha Holiday Lights Festival has been transforming Nebraska’s largest city every Christmas season for more than 20 years. Hundreds of amazing light displays make Omaha look amazing. The downtown and residential areas feature bright LEDs, inflatables, glowing light curtains, decorations, and more. Some areas are illuminated with thousands of lights choreographed to holiday music.

Omaha Holiday Lights Festival: Events and Activities

Gene Leahy Mall is the premier destination to see Christmas lights in Omaha. The shopping center, also known as Central Park, features a long loop path and a large lagoon. The entire area around the shopping center is delightfully illuminated for the holidays. The main highlight in this area is the Christmas Tree which is lit with lights on Thanksgiving. The tree lighting ceremony at 6 pm ends with a free concert and entertainment.

The KETV Family Festival will take place on December 8, from 11 am to 4 pm, inviting you to enjoy a holiday full of activities for the whole family at downtown Omaha attractions. There will be free transportation between all locations provided by Ollie the Trolley.

More lights can be seen in the Old Market area of ​​Omaha. The Christmas displays shine brightly with white lights, garlands and various decorations, making the streets and brick buildings look especially festive. Some impressive displays can also be seen in north Omaha, along North 24th Street, from Burdette Street to Ohio Street. The holiday season in Omaha usually concludes with a spectacular fireworks display on New Year’s Eve at Omaha’s Charles Schwab Field at 7 pm.
