2. Tennis – ATP Washington: Kyrgios, three years later
He’s been waiting for this for three years. Nick Krygios clinched a seventh title on the ATP Tour overnight by winning the final of the Citi Open in Washington against Japan’s Yoshihito Nishioka (96th) 6-4, 6-3. The Australian’s last success on the major circuit dates back to 2019, and a victory here in the American capital. The year 2022 sounds like a rebirth for the “bad boy” of Canberra, finalist of the last Wimbledon. The icing on the cake, Kyrgios became the first player in the history of the Citi Open to win the singles and doubles title in the same edition (alongside Jack Sock)!

- Golf, PGA : Joohyoung Kim, a great South Korean hopeful, won the Wyndham Championship, his first title on the North American PGA Tour, on Sunday after an irresistible final lap with a card of 61 (-9), in Greensboro ( North Carolina). The latter relegated his two runners-up of the day, Sungjae Im and the American John Huh, to five strokes.
- Chess, International Federation : Arkadi Dvorkovitch (50), former Deputy Prime Minister of Russia (from 2012 to 2018) under Vladimir Putin, was re-elected on Sunday as President of the International Chess Federation (FIDE), clearly ahead of the Ukrainian Andrii Baryshpolets. The latter, grand master, has challenged the position of the Russian, since the invasion of Ukraine by Russia on February 24.
