An eight-figure squeeze. According to information from L’Equipe, the National Directorate of Control and Management (DNCG) and the Professional Football League (LFP) would have asked John Textor by mail to bail out the coffers of Olympique Lyonnais by the end of June. The OL boss would thus be ordered to inject nearly 60 million euros, with a view to the passage of the club before the DNCG on June 28.
This hole is partly due to the poor results of OL, deprived of European competition for the second consecutive time. It might be filled by a sale of players, even if it is difficult to imagine the elements with high market value, like Rayan Cherki, Maxence Caqueret or Bradley Barcola, leaving the ship in less than two weeks.
According to the daily, American leaders are “confident” as to the outcome of the case. They would thus be preparing to complete a budget lower than that which the former president, Jean-Michel Aulas, had presented to the DNCG. The Eagle Football group also hopes to recover 50 million euros by selling its female structure to American businesswoman Michele Kang.
