Olympics 2024: Pakistan wins gold medal after 40 years, Arshad Nadeem sets record in javelin throw – Sports

In Paris Olympics 2024, Pakistan has won the gold medal after 40 years, Arshad Nadeem has set a new record of javelin throw in the Olympics.

This javelin throw final started at 11:25 pm Pakistan time.

According to the throw chart of the final released by World Athletics, Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem threw at the fourth place.

Arshad Nadeem’s first throw was called a foul, but in the second over he set a new record by making the longest throw of the Olympics at 92.97 metres.

Defending champion Neeraj Chopra of India threw at number 8, his first throw also failed.

The javelin throw finals began with Trinidad and Tobago’s Walcott throwing 86.16 meters in the first round while Grenada’s Peters Anderson threw the javelin 84.70 meters in the first round.

Kenya’s Yego Julius threw 80.20 in the first round while the Czech Republic also crossed the 80m mark with a throw of 80.15m.

Germany’s Julian Wimber also failed to throw correctly in the first round.

Finland’s Lisi threw 81.78 meters in the first round while his compatriot Oliver threw 81.24 meters in the first round.

The second round of the final competition began when Jacob of the Czech Republic threw 84.70 meters in the second round.

Grenada’s Peters Anderson threw 87.87 meters in the second round while Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem threw 92.97 meters in the second round which is the biggest throw in Olympic history.

India’s Neeraj Chopra threw 89.45 meters in the second round, while Germany’s Julian Weber threw the javelin 87.33 meters.

Trinidad’s Walcott Keshorn failed to clear the throw in the second round, while Czech Republic’s Jakub Wedlij managed a throw of 84.52m.

Finland’s Lisi Atalato threw the second throw of 77.60 meters while her compatriot Oliver Helander threw the second throw at 85.68 meters.
